SMS electronic system for parking payment and control

Introduction

This presentation is to present an innovative project of Eurodesign BG Ltd for the development of the parking payment system in the so called "Blue Zone" through mobile phones.
Fighting against traffic congestions and trying to facilitate parking in the city center, Municipalities are taking a series of measures. They include the enlargement of the Blue Zone and implementation of a new payment system, based on modern Information and Communication Technologies.
This presentation aims to clarify the business models, commercial conditions and the technological prerequisites for the service implementation.

Existing ways of parking payment in “Blue Zones”, such as:

Hourly parking through filling out tickets

Office subscription

Preferential and privileged parking with smart cards

Preferential parking with smart cards for the disabled

All the above does not offer the service people need in the current dynamic life. At the same time the increased number of vehicles requires more sophisticated way of billing and control.

Our SMS electronic system offers a mobility and flexibility to people and at the same time strong control and billing!

Improvement of the parking service in the Blue Zone

Simplified payment for parking through SMS

Notification on time expiration of parking area

The possibility of paying for additional time without returning to the parking area

SMS example messages:

Step 1: The user sends a SMS with the registration number of the vehicle

Step 2: The system returns a confirmation SMS including the time when the parking expires

Step 3: The system sends a reminder SMS 5 min. before expiration of the parking time.

Control message example:

Step 1: The control staff types the vehicle registration number on the hand held device for checking.

Step 2: The system returns an information message including the remaining time.
